Eritrea (ge''ez: ኤርትራ, ʾĒrtrā) er et land i det nordlige Østafrika.Landet grænser op til Sudan i vest, Etiopien i syd og Djibouti i sydøst. Landets øst- og nordøstlige side er det Røde Havs kyst, hvor Dahlakøerne ligger. Området var tidligere en italiensk koloni, men blev annekteret af Etiopien i 1952 og efter løsrivelseskrig og folkeafstemning selvstændigt i 1993.
